This Site IS SLOWLY BEING RESTORED
(Restoration began on August 20, 2016)
WhiteRose’s Garden started in 1995, although the domain name wasn’t purchased until 1997. It started out as my online notebook for research notes on mythology and magic (historical & modern). It quickly grew from a just a few pages to hundreds. When it began, I coded the site in a tool created by Netscape. When that was killed off I redid the entire site in Microsoft’s FrontPage. That too no longer exists.
When I changed hosting providers in 2013, I realized the site no longer functioned since no one supported the FrontPage extensions anymore. I was faced with a dilemma: do I redo the site, again, in Adobe’s Dreamweaver or do I hire someone to give me a proper content management setup? I went with the latter. Several hundred dollars later I had literally nothing. The company took my money & gave me nothing in return. So the site was taken down. I didn’t have the skills or knowledge to rebuild it.
I moved on to other projects, other websites. Along the way I learned a bit on how to create WordPress sites. That brings us to today, August 20, 2016. I’m going to try to rebuild the site using WordPress. I have no idea how long this will take. The site was massive & not well organized. This is why I haven’t touched it in many years. I’m still not sure how to structure things so the site will be rather fluid – so don’t link to pages yet because they’ll probably change.
The first sections I’m going to restore are the Grimoire of Enchantments followed by the Book of Shadows. They both present some challenges because I used a lot of tables to structure information – something that’s basically impossible for modern websites (because tables are usually not mobile-friendly). This will take time but I’m working on it steadily. I’m committed to restoring WhiteRose’s Garden but please be patient while I work. If there is some information you really need, please don’t hesitate to contact me. The original pages are still accessible & I’m happy to send you what you need.
In the meantime, check out my art! I strive to keep most of my prices well under $200. I create abstract paintings & sculptures that fit a variety of decorative themes and styles.
