Deities: Set and Sekhmet
This ritual was
performed at Journeys of the Soul on June 13, 1999.
The verbal parts of the ritual are given. The
specifics of circle casting and such is best done in a
style you feel comfortable with. The priestess (WR)
performs the calls to Sekhmet and the priest (Ben)
performs the calls to Set. Pronunciations are
approximate.
Supplies:
Outdoor setting (if possible)
Two black candles
Fire pit (a cauldron/pot w/charcoal tabs will do)
Frankincense Tears
Lotus Oil
Kyphi Incense

things that no longer serve us
He who asks us to step boldly into the
unknown.

We give to you our shattered dreams,
Our lost hopes,
Our unrealistic goals and our inner
failures.

Scour from our existence with the force of
a sandstorm
All that is our failure
Grant us freedom from pain,
Freedom form guilt,
Bring forth the beginnings of creation
From our own destructions.

(Light the other black candle)
Spellwork:
WR: Now is the time for all
present to bring their failures, pain and guilt to rest at the
feet of the Destroyers. Beside the fire you will find a dish of
frankincense, on the altar is a dish of oil . These will be the
instruments that will free you from all that is negative.
Ben: Starting in the East,
make your way around the circle to the fire. Kneel before it and
concentrate on that which you need to have destroyed in your
life. Take some of the frankincense and toss it on the fire.
Allow the smoke to rise to the heavens, carrying with it your
prayers for destruction.
WR: Then move to the altar.
Take a small amount of oil on your finger and anoint the statues
of Sekhmet and Set. Then anoint your forehead. Feel yourself
become free from that which has been as source of negativity in
your life.
