This spell comes from my series of "Eternal Charm Candles." The candle for this spell is black, comes wrapped in with the spell below and an black pendant. In order to perform this spell you will need: any black candle, a pen, paper, and piece of black onyx. Votive candles work well and are very inexpensive. It can be scented if you like, for a list of corresponding scents see the incense correspondence chart. Black Onyx is a known for its powers of protection and defense. It helps us to protect ourselves in times of conflict and to defend ourselves against negativity. It is also a stone of balancing. It can provide a centering and stability to your life.
Begin by finding a quiet, undisturbed area. Get some paper, a pen and relax. Light the candle and make sure the pendant is close to it. Focus on the flame and breath deeply. Push your worries out of your mind. Pick up the pendant and hold it in your hands. Know what it is and what power it has. Carefully pass the pendant over the flame (don’t touch the pendant to the flame) three times. Each time imagine the crystal becoming ‘clean’ of all energies that are not supposed to be there. Take the cleansed pendant and hold it in your hands. You should now feel that stone much stronger now. Now it is time to cleanse yourself. Take your paper and pen and write down what your fears are. Write about your anger, helplessness, and the craziness of your life, or in the lives of those you wish to protect. Write down every word of how you feel about the situation(s). This is how the process begins. Feel the stone taking on those things which frighten you, or on those things that you wish to have protected. When you are through, hold the pendant and let its energies overwhelm you. Feel its strength making you stronger. Take your paper(s) to the sink with the lit candle (use caution) and burn it. Know that this is a new beginning. Let the crystal serve as a reminder whenever you feel you need protection or need some balance in your life.
