Quemuel -
An angel who was destroyed
by God (in Jewish legendary lore, he is destroyed by Moses) when
he tried to prevent the Lawgiver from receiving the Torah at the
time God promulgated it. On that occasion Quemuel led angels
in opposition to the number of 12,000. [Rf. Schwab, Vocabulaire
de l'Angelologie; Ginzberg, The Legends of the Jews.]
