Orus & Osiris

Other Names / Variants for Orus: Horus

Orus - a fallen angel in Milton's Paradise Lost I, 478. (a)

Osiris - a fallen angel in Paradise Lost I, 478.  Milton derived him from Egyptian mythology, where Osiris, a great divinity and husband of Isis, is slain by his brother Typhon. (a)

Both Horus & Osiris are Egyptian Deities.  As was common in earlier centuries (and millennia), deities were 'banished' to Hell by various Judeo-Christian faiths in an attempt to dissuade people from worshiping the old gods.  For more information on Osiris and Horus in the roles as Gods, visit the Egyptian Book of Shadows within the main Book of Shadows section of WhiteRose's Garden (link to the homepage is found below).
