Crowned Seraph

Crowned Seraph - The devil, 6-winged, is pictured as a crowned seraph in his capacity of tempter in Eden.  [See reproduction in Wall, Devils, p.42]  According to Fabricius, the Devil (Lucifer) could be distinguished from all seraphs by his crown, worn by virtue of his office of light-bearer.  (a)
