Nehalennia

Other Names / Variants:

NEHELANNIA: Nehelannia is the Germanic goddess of death and escort to the afterlife.  Ancient pagans attributed her with the power to deliver departing souls to a place of peace and eternal rest.  Nehalennia's symbol is a rat, which also is associated with death because of its reputation as a notorious carrier of lethal plagues.  (p)
