Marduk

Mesopotamian God of the Underworld

MARDUK:  Marduk is the ancient Mesopotamian god of the underworld.  He is an abominable beast associated with plagues and horrible deaths.  In addition to abusing damned souls, Marduk can attack the living.  He is considered particularly evil and sadistic among the dark deities of CHTHONIC lore.  (o)

**this is not entirely true.  Marduk was not an 'abominable beast' in the Enuma Elish which is the Mesopotamian creation myth. I have never read anything from that era that indicated he was a 'beast.'  I'm sure this another example of demonization of old gods by Christians. I will add additional information about Marduk in the future.**
