Greek Water Creatures 

 

  • The Naiads were water nymphs who dwelt in brooks, springs, and fountains.

  • The Nereids were the 50 water nymphs parented by Nereus and Doris.  One of the Nereids, Thetis became the mother of Achilles.  Amphitrite, another one, is the wife of Poseidon. 

  • The Oceanids were the 50 water nymphs parented by Oceanus and Tethys.
