Susanowo

Susanowo is the Japanese god of the ocean and storms.  Once, in a competition to prove who was the most powerful deity, he lost to his sister, terrorized her therefore angering the other gods.  After his final act of aggression toward her, the gods cut off his beard and banished him from heaven.  When he got to Earth, he conquered Korea and planted the mountains on Japan's Pacific coast with trees that grew from his hairs.
